The Koh Chang National Park is located in the easternmost border province of Trat. The Park consists of 52 Islands. Chang island. It is the largest of the archipelago, and the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. Most of the island is mountainous with a diverse range of flora. It is said the Koh Chang island is covered by the most dense forest is South East Asia. 80% of the island is under the jurisdiction of the National Park Rangers, and therefore still exhibits a wealth of natural environment, such as evergreen forest,which are the habitat of several species of animals.The island provides two main areas of attraction: First the west coast already fully developed or better over developed for tourism.The second destination is the east coast with it diverse fruit plantations, such as durian, rambutan, pomelo coconut and rubber plantation. The beaches at the south of the east coast are still virgin and considered a secret treasure. Here you can find native live in small fishing villages in secluded bays and mangrove forests. Waterfalls and tracking in the dense forest is a special asset for the nature lover. The ISLAND VIEW RESORT & SPA is located at the south of the Islands east cost in Ao Salak Phet, a tranquil bay protected from the storms, whereby in contrast, especially in the summer monsoon, the west coast often not allows swimming and other activities in the sea. Thus our resort is ideally located all year around, for all kind of activities at the sea. Moreover the Salak Phet bay is the Gateway to the more of 50 islands of the archipelago, to facilitate exploration of them. Ao Salak Phet once known as the sleepy little bay is now developing into one of the best kept secrets on Koh Chang. A short 50 meter walk from the parking lot at the end of the road to Rong Than (Homestay village) Ao Salak Phet bay, brings you to The Island View Resort. Just walk out the pier and you will find yourself in another world. With nine air-conditioned hotel style rooms, 10 holiday homes, and a professional restaurant featuring live seafood, plucked right out of the sea, you will be able to unwind from the pressures of life almost immediately. Many beautiful deserted beaches are around our resort. One only has to cast their eyes across the bay to Koh Sai Kao (white Sand Island) to realize nature at its finest. Island View Resort offers free Kayaks for their guests to this pristine island. A take away picnic lunch may also be arranged so people are able to relax and enjoy this ideal beach setting as long as they wish. Other activities include Hobie cat rentals as well as instruction if needed. Free bikes are available. Motor bikes for rent to discover the beautiful landscape around our resort. Dive trips and PADI courses taught by certified instructors can be arranged

Koh Chang ist gebirgig, mit Bergen bis zu 800 Meter, bedeckt mit undurchdringlichem Dschungel. Es wird gesagt, dass Koh Chang, den dichtesten Dschungel in Suedosostasien hat. Der Koh Chang Nationalpark liegt vor der südöstlichen Provinz von Trat und besteht aus 52 Inseln. Koh Chang ist die größte Insel des Archipels und die zweitgrößte Insel in Thailand nach Phuket. . 80% der Insel ist geschützt als Nationalpark mit einer reichen Flora und Fauna, sowie Lebensraum für viele Tierarten. Die Insel liefert zwei Hauptbereiche für den Tourismus: Erstens die für den Tourismus völlig entwickelte oder besser überentwickelte Westküste. Zweitens, die noch wenig entwickelte Ostküste mit ihren reichen Fruchtplantagen, wie Durian, Rambutan, Pomelo, Kokosnuss- und Gummiplantagen. Die Strände im Süden der Ostküste sind meistens noch jungfräulich und können mit Fug und Recht als Geheimtipp bezeichnet werden. Hier können Sie auch noch das ursprüngliche Leben der Einheimischen finden, die in den kleinen Fischendörfern, in abgelegenen Buchten und in Mangrovenwäldern leben. Besuch von Wasserfällen und Trecking in den Obstplantagen und dem Dschungel ist ein unvergessliches Erlebnis für den Naturliebhaber. Das ISLAND VIEW RESORT & SPA liegt im Süden der Ostküste in der malerischen Bucht von Salak Phet, eine vor dem Sommermonsun durch hohe Berge gut geschützte Bucht. Dem gegenüber ist die Westküste von Koh Chang während des Sommermonsun häufig von so starken Stürmen betroffen, dass das Baden und andere Aktivitäten auf dem Meer nicht möglich sind. So ist das ISLAND VIEW RESORT & SPA der ideale Standort für alle Aktivitäten auf dem Wasser, während des ganzen Jahres. Weiterhin ist die Bucht von Salak Phet, aufgrund ihrer Lage, der ideale Ausgangspunkt zu den mehr als 50 Inseln des Archipels. Das RESORT bietet ihnen daher die kürzesten Anfahrten zu den Tauchgründen und Inselnstränden. Direkt gegenüber vom ISLAND VIEW RESORT & SPA liegt der Strand von White Sand Island. Die meisten unserer Gäste paddeln die kurze Strecke zu diesem wunderschönen Strand mit unseren kostenlosen Kajaks, ausserdem gibt es auf der Suedseite eine malerische Unterwasser Welt ideal zum schnorcheln.

Wanderungen, z.T. durch den Urwald, führen zu den einsamen Stränden in unserer Umgebung.

Unser neuer Infinity Swimming pool mit Sonnenterasse, Massageraum, Fitnessraum und Jogging Pfad, bietet einen traumhaften Blick ueber die Bucht und die vorgelagerten Inseln.

Die Bucht von Salak Phet ist der einzige Standort auf Koh Chang, von dem aus während des ganzen Jahres Segeltörns mit Yachten, Jollen,Surfbrettern und SUP unternommen werden können.

Der in der Hauptsaison, von November bis März, vorherrschende Nord-Ost Wind erzeugt hier ein Mikroklima mit ablandigen wind. Durch ein Tal kommend, erzeugt dieser ablandige, frische und trockene Wind ideale Bedingungen für das Wohlbefinden und dem Wassersport. Im Gegensatz zur Ostküste, ist die Westküste von Koh Chang durch die hohen Berge von diesem Wind abgeschnitten, was auch zu einem sehr heißen Klima führt.
